AMSI is a non-profit facility dedicated to promoting security, rule of law, blue economy, and sustainable governance in Africa's maritime domain. Our mission is to foster effective ocean governance, implementation of international agreements, and sustainable utilization of marine resources, ultimately contributing to the socioeconomic transformation of Africa and its citizenry.

Our Objectives
✔️Promote Maritime Security and Blue Economy: Prevent piracy, terrorism, illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing, and other illicit activities while promoting sustainable fishing practices and marine conservation.
✔️Foster Sustainable Ocean Governance: Build capacity and promote cooperation among African states to address maritime security challenges and promote sustainable ocean governance.
✔️Provide Specialized Training and Research: Offer capacity-building programs, research outcomes, and advisory services to support African states in developing their maritime security and ocean governance capabilities.
✔️Combat Maritime Crimes: Prevent and suppress maritime crimes, including illegal migration, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
✔️Facilitate Technical Assistance: Support coastal states in making and defending submissions before the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS).
